Addressing a press conference on 24 July 2019, Dr Amit Garg, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon, Fortis Hospital, Mohali, shared “For many obese individuals, Bariatric Surgery provides the most effective long-term solution for weight loss when other methods have failed.”
At the press conference many patients who have undergone bariatric/ metabolic surgery at Fortis Hospital, Mohali shared their success stories. Mr Pawan Kumar, 45 yrs old from Hoshiarpur, who got Bariatric Surgery by Dr Amit Garg shared, ‘ I had arthritis, sleep apnea and was not able to walk. After surgery now my medications for arthritis have reduced from 13 tablets a day to only one tablet. Losing around 90 kgs weight made me more active. I feel alive.”
